Written reports are often the "face" of your investigations to others.  A professionally written report reflects a professional investigation and investigator.  This course is designed to improve your basic writing skills.  While general in nature, it is designed with the law enforcement environment in mind.  It will help you clearly and concisely convey the information you want others to know.  It addresses common mistakes and tips on avoiding them.

This two (2) hour course is taught by former FBI Agents Kathy Guider and Doug Kouns.  Attendance is free for the first 100 to sign up and they will gain two continuing education units (CEUs).

Instructors

Kathy Guider

Kathy Guider is the Vice President of Veracity Guider is a former Special Agent and Supervisory Special Agent of the FBI. For more than 23 years, she served in the Indianapolis Division where she conducted drug, terrorism and white collar crime investigations. Guider also served as an operator with the Indianapolis Special Operations Group and later became the Team Leader which engaged in covert missions and surveillance to support high priority investigations nationwide. Guider is a Certified Police Instructor. She teaches courses in many areas including Interview and Interrogation, Instructor Development, Hate Crimes, Insider Threat and Statement Analysis locally, nationally and abroad. She has been a member of the FBI’s Evidence Response Team (ERT) for the past 20 years.

Doug Kouns

Doug Kouns – Founder and CEO of Veracity Kouns is a former Special Agent and Supervisory Special Agent of the FBI. For more than 22 years he served the Bureau in the field and at FBI Headquarters while conducting or overseeing criminal, counter-terrorism and counter-intelligence investigations Over his career, Mr. Kouns has obtained specialized training in interview/interrogation, evidence collection, human intelligence operations, advanced investigative techniques, surveillance, photography, tactical operations and more.

Course student limit: Class size is limited to 100 participants.
